"What is Waukesha Bible Church?"

The answer to this question strikes at the heart of what we are. First impressions are significant and in answering this question, it is our desire that you would "feel" the imprint of the cross through these words.

We are a family of families who believe the Christian life from its inception to its culmination is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. We teach and live the freedom of the cross under the reign of grace. In this singular truth, we believe God to be bigger than our differences and inabilities (1 Cor. 12:12, 13) and announce that God alone is able to grow His people, earthen vessels though we are, into the perfect picture of his Son (2 Cor. 4:7-12; Eph. 4:11-16). All of this is captured by the phrase, "Reigning Grace."

Reigning Grace seeks to find, celebrate, and declare that Jesus Christ is enough in this life and in the life to come. Jesus Christ is enough for all of life's complexities. All truth is God's truth and all of it, in its various expressions declare his glory and show his handiwork (Ps. 19:1). Reigning Grace is celebratory. It believes Christ moves his people from darkness to light and from bondage to liberty. This liberty is a freedom from the penalty (our past justification), power (our present sanctification), and presence (our ultimate glorification) of sin.

Within a family, members of that family share similar traits and characteristics since they share common DNA. However no two siblings (unless identical twins) share identical DNA. There are nuances that make each person unique. We celebrate what we are as a local church and as part of one global church family, as well as what we are as an individual personality within this one family. The brochure "Our-DNA" will help you understand our theological DNA more precisely. Some of our DNA we hold in common with all Evangelical Christians. Nevertheless, there are things about us that make us uniquely us, even within the larger context of what makes us Christians.

As a family, we seek to love without condition, accept without requirement, forgive without limit, and serve without reward. Reigning Grace believes Christians can find rest in the sufficiency and satisfying person and work of Jesus Christ, even in the most extenuating circumstances. Reigning Grace is the theology of Waukesha Bible Church.

As a family of families, we believe grace operates in the sphere of relationships. First, we make no claim of being able to merit any of God's favor (Isa. 64:6; Rom. 3:10-12; Titus 3:5). We are fully convinced that grace reigns from the inception, continuation, and culmination of the Christian life (Gal. 3:1-5). We are equally convinced that what has been received by grace cannot be retained by works. It is impossible for us to undo by our actions what God has done through his actions. Second, grace teaches us to love without condition (Gal. 5:13, 14), accept without requirement (Eph. 4:32), forgive without limit (Matt. 18:22), favor without merit, and serve without reward (Luke 6:35). As a people of grace, we put understanding above accusation, forbearance above faultfinding, and Biblical unity above the demand for conformity (John 13:34, 35; Ps. 133:1-3).

When all is said and done and your life on earth is finished, the only thing that will matter is the unadulterated, undiluted, and undistracted worship of Jesus Christ. We find the simplicity of Christ an attractive message. We invite you to join us in our pursuit of knowing him, his work, and who we are because of it.

In Christ alone,
Pastor Pat on behalf of the Elders and families of Waukesha Bible Church
